Cat Behavior - Cats Tongues

Cat Sticking Tongue Out

Cat Sticking Tongue Out

Why do cats sit with the tips of their tongues hanging out from their mouths?

Reply from Liz (Editor): Most cats that display this cat behavior have lost a tooth or two at the front of their mouths. The fang teeth in particular keep the cat's tongue in their mouth, so if one or more of these are lost they are more likely to sit with their tongue tip hanging out.

Other than this, some cats will keep their tongue hanging out for a while after they've groomed themselves.
