Cat Problems - My Cat Has Been Gone for 4 Days

by Lucy
(Leeds)

My cat has been gone for 4 days now. The weather is really hot. He is a male and hasn't been doctored yet. He is a year old. What is the usual time a cat goes out for?

Reply from Liz (Editor): Four days is quite a long time - I really hope he turns up, I know how worrying this is.

Cats that haven't been neutered are much more likely to go wandering off for days at a time, in search of females to mate with. They are also much more likely to get into fights which leaves them more vulnerable to catching infectious diseases from the cats they fight with. When he does come back I'd recommend getting him neutered as soon as you can, this should help keep him closer to home.

Best of luck and thank you for your question and the lovely photo.
