Female Kitten Names - Abby

by Ann
(Memphis, TN USA)

About 3 years ago, I adopted a 3 month old Tabby-Mix kitten from a local shelter, who was very sweet and friendly.

While trying to think of a name for her, I was reading about the "Dear Abby" newspaper column one day (that was featured in many newspapers in the USA for several years, until the author's death). And it hit me -- "That's it! Abby -- such a sweet name, just like the kitten I have."

And there you have how I came to name the cat that lives with Rudi and me. (I've previously sent a contribution on how I came to name him, so I refer you to that contribution under male kitten names if you'd like to know how I came to name him). Ann

Comments from Liz (editor): I think Abby is a lovely name, and your inspiration came when reading the paper! This is a good idea if you're struggling to think of a name - one thing the paper is never short of is names, any of which could become a name for a pet! The best ideas sometimes pop up when you least expect them.

Here's the link to Rudi's page and the story of how he got his name.

Thank you so much for sharing how you named Abby and Rudi - they are both lovely names and sound very nice on their own or when said together.
