My kitten has always loved climbing high and jumping. he's very adventurous. I'm afraid something is wrong with him because all of a sudden he won't jump anymore. Everything else is the same, he plays, eats, drinks, is affectionate. We have put pet stairs next to the bed so when he wants up on the bed he'll climb 2 of the 3 steps and waits for me to pick him up. I have to pick him up to put on the couch too. He doesn't appear to be in any pain.

Reply from Liz (Editor): I would definitely recommend taking Jagermister to the vet for a check-up. It does seem very odd that he's suddenly stopped jumping - he's still very young and at that age I'd expect him to be leaping around everywhere.

There could be a number of reasons why he's stopped jumping - he could have injured himself when jumping or could have fallen / landed awkwardly. He could have something wrong with one of his paws which is stopping him from jumping (e.g. an ingrowing toenail, an infection). These things may not be bad enough to cause him pain unless he jumps, so on the surface of it he seems OK, but they could get a lot worse if they're not treated.

Best of luck, I hope he's better soon. By the way I love his name! Thank you for the photo - he's gorgeous.
